I will be traveling a good part of April to Scotland and Ireland. This is a trip that has been in the works for nearly two years and has finally arrived. It is so exciting when plans come to fruition! I’ll be sure to post a picture or two when I return. The scenery is sure to be beautiful. My husband and younger son have requested I bring them a kilt. The later hopes to wear one to prom. Had I not a wee bit of Irish blood coursing through me veins, I might frown upon the idea, but alas, I ner say methinks he rocks. 🙂 My oldest son has requested I return with a four leaf clover (Good thing my little sister found one in her yard a couple weeks ago). By now you can see my family leans toward the eccentric. No tee shirts boasting Irish roots and requesting kisses for them!
May is looking to be a busy month. My youngest son is graduating from high school, I’ll be speaking at the CAAW Spring Arts Festival in Piedmont, MO, and I will be having a book signing at Neveah Faith Christian Store in my hometown, Fredericktown, MO.
I am incredibly proud of Jared. He is a talented musician. I don’t think there is an instrument he can’t play. He possesses an intelligent mind, but more than that, he is one of the kindest, most gentle souls I’ve had the privilege to know. I thank him often for being my son. His future plans are to attend college, but he has been contemplating joining the military for quite awhile. As a mother, this brings many mixed emotions as I’m sure you can imagine. No matter what he decides to do, whether architect, musician, or soldier, I am proud of him. Not for the title he may wear, but because of who he has chosen to be as a person. And no matter that he towers over me at 6’4″, he will always be my baby (I had to add that, so he could roll his eyes at me later). 🙂
So, May will be filled with a flurry of activity. We will have Jared’s graduation open house, then I will trek down to Missouri for The Spring Art Festival. The next day, I will be in Fredericktown for a book signing. Then it is back home for Jared’s graduation. After that, I intend to catch-up on sleep. But not too much time spent on resting because I have to have the manuscript for Finding Home: Brian’s Journey to my editor by June 5.
Life is busy, but that also makes it good. For this I have many blessing to count!
CAAW Spring Art Show

at the former Lantern Restaurant in Piedmont, MO
(I will be speaking along with other local authors. A Q&A will follow along with a book signing.)
Neveah Faith Christian Store

If you are in the area and have the opportunity to attend one or both of these functions, please do. I would love to visit with you. I know the Art Show will be teaming with many local artists and will run Friday-Sunday for the whole month of May. It is sure to be fabulous, so don’t miss it! A portion of the sales will go towards the CAAW fundraiser too, so it’s a win-win.
